Embrace fall with hot chocolate at Seaport Village

Boardwalk Betty is on vacation today missing one of the most prized days of the year--yep, it is a day San Diegans consider the first peak at fall. It's overcast, slightly chilly, nearly raining (for SD's standards), and really, one of those days you wish you could put on a scarf, curl up by a fire and enjoy a marshmallow-covered hot chocolate.

This is the type of day I enjoy most at Seaport. I like to grab that cup of hot chocolate milk from the Village Cafe or Upstart Crow and browse through the many wonderful stores, taking in breezy, cold air and then rescuing myself in the warmth of the shops. It's also the type of day that makes me excited to prep my house for fall. You know, checking out Swings & Things for the best hammock to cuddle in with a book, switching my decorative candle scents from strawberry to pumpkin at Harbor Lights Candle Shops and visiting Presenting the Soap Opera to find that perfect country scent for the bathroom sink soap.

Yes, today is a welcome break from the norm and the perfect time to embrace the change in weather with a stroll at Seaport Village.
