Big Bay Shuttle Up & Running

Are you ever confused at how to get around the Embarcadero? Did you even know that Seaport Village was located on something called "the Embarcadero"?

Well, we are.  And so is the San Diego Convention Center, Midway Museum, Hornblower, Maritime Museum & Flagship Cruises.  There mayyyy me some construction going on in the area.  So in an effort to make things easier, the Port of San Diego is offering a shuttle!

A shuttle that only costs $1 for all day use!!

Big Bay Shuttle

Read all about it!

A new shuttle service is rolling along San Diego's Embarcadero.

For $1, visitors can hop aboard the Big Bay Shuttle for a six-stop ride along the bayfront that will connect Harbor Island to the South Embarcadero, near the San Diego Convention Center. The $1 ticket price also allows riders on and off privileges for the entire day.

The service kicked off over Memorial Day weekend, with the first riders being a family from Minnesota.

Four shuttles, carrying 12 to 15 passengers each, will stop at the following locations every 15-20 minutes:

Hours of operation are:

  •  Sunday – Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  •  Friday – Saturday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Tickets for the shuttle may be purchased at Hilton Bayfront, San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina, Seaport Village, Maritime Museum and Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina (Harbor Island).

The shuttle will run for 14 weeks over the summer, from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. Shuttles are clearly marked, adorned with the Big Bay logo.

Rides on the shuttle are also included in the cost of parking at the Port's public parking facilities at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, the Convention Center, and Navy Pier. Users of these parking lots may request their shuttle tickets from the parking attendant.

The shuttle is being operated in partnership with Ace Parking. At least one shuttle will a CNG vehicle and one will be ADA compatible.

Bonus!  You can buy a ticket for the shuttle at our very own Destination Travel store.  The store is located near the food court.

I think this is pretty cool.  I hope it helps you navigate our little home, the Embarcadero!

Have fun,
