A Little Insider Story

The store owners of Seaport Village are some of the most thoughtful and charitable people we know.  Here’s a story from one of our restaurant owners which touched our hearts.

Alfonso Rosales was a professional house painter until he had an accident in 2006 that left him disabled.  Since his accident, his life completely changed.  He could no longer work due to his permanent injuries and daily chores became extremely difficult.

Alfonso decided to paint bird houses as a form of therapy.   The owner of Margarita’s Kitchen & Cantina (our favorite Mexican eatery) , Pepe Stepensky,  was introduced to Alfonso’s bird houses and decided to purchase the houses and start his own collection.

Since then Pepe has added 6 bird houses to his collection and is looking to add even more.   He is also looking to spread the word on Alfonso’s work in order to help this disabled painter. We are proud to have compassionate store owners like Pepe who are willing to go out and help those in need.

You can see more of the bird house collection at Margarita’s Kitchen and Cantina located inside the Seaport village food court.
