In case you didn't know, National Mom's Night Out was last week. This special night took place all over the United States. Seaport Village and Buster's Beach House had the privilege of hosting San Diego's Moms. I was unsure of what to expect but all the moms were AWESOME! Everyone was unique, warm, friendly and just looking to have a great night...
The Red Bull Air Races are a mere 2 days away and the pilots have already taken to the sky to practice. Since the races are on Seaport Village's front door step (AKA the Big Bay) we are the perfect viewing location. How perfect? I took a video to show you. Hold on to your shorts! These planes are loud and fast. And this is just a practice run!...

If you live in San Diego I am sure you have heard about the wayward whale in San Diego Bay. Many of you came down to see it! Some say they even spotted it from Seaport Village. (Fun!) It was a big deal for those of us down on the Bay. And apparently a big deal for the rest of San Diego too!

If you did not get to see this big beautiful...

Whale Days this past weekend was a huge success! I took some pictures to give you an idea of the fun you missed out on if you weren't able to make it. We were in the company of Hornblower, Birch Aquarium, KYXY and so many more! Birch Aquarium's booth was really neat because they had a sample of real baleen and an interactive whale blubber exhibit...
As blogged about previously here , Whale Days is this weekend! The weather forecast is predicting sunny skies! I know you have been cooped up in your home’s the past few weekends due to the crummy weather. So get outside, breathe in some fresh air and come down to the mini festival Seaport Village will be participating in. We...
If not a toilet then maybe an old jail cell bunk? Or cell door? The building next to Seaport Village, the Old Police Headquarters , is a historic one. See the calendar in the back? If you can't make it out, it says the year is 1936. It is currently being redeveloped and will become a vibrant shopping and dining destination. I have been inside the...
I'm sure you know that Seaport Village is located downtown. Did you know that we are also located on an Embarcadero? There are a lot of us located on the Embarcadero: Midway Museum, Hornblower Cruises, Maritime Museum and Anthony's Fish Grotto to name a few. Well, we all got together and decided to plan an event called Whale Days . It will take...
Do you hear those loud booms? No? Well if you are downtown this weekend you will! California's official state tall ship, Californian will be defending the harbor from invading ships, such as the privateer Lynx, the Spirit of Dana Point and other historic tall ships such as the HMS Surprise. Cannon battle reenactments will take place over the two...
It's not a surprise; San Diego's weather is not conducive to that "cold weather holiday spirit". We may not have the cold weather but San Diegans do a nice job of making their own warm weather holiday traditions. And one of my favorites is the San Diego Bay's Parade of Lights . If you aren't familiar, over 100 boats deck themselves out in lights,...
Have you heard about this? Cool Globes? They really are interesting so you should. Right now, in and around the San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park, is a traveling exhibition of globes artfully rendered to illustrate the diverse consequences of global warming. Called “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet,...
