Sword swallowers, jugglers, acrobats, comedians, musicians and more are sharpening their anything but ordinary talents for the Seaport Village Spring Busker Festival. A family-friendly celebration of street performers, the free festival will run Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, from noon - 5 p.m. throughout the bayside shopping center.

New this year, San Diego City Beat and Yelp.com are bringing San Diego an unedited Saturday night party--Buskers After Dark--to showcase untamed busker arts mingled with deejay grooves. The 18 and older evening entertainment will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Seaport Village's food court area in the western plaza. Eateries will stay open late to serve food and beverages.

"Busker festivals are incredibly popular worldwide with unusual street-side performers traveling from across the globe to perform," said Seaport Village General Manager Terry Hall. "Seaport Village's event is quickly becoming Southern California's signature event. And after the success of our last two Busker Festivals and recognizing the high caliber of performers we'll have this year, we've decided to add a Saturday evening party, Buskers After Dark, to keep the antics alive later into the night."

Back by popular demand, the public gets to vote for its favorite acts to help select the festival's top three buskers. In a grueling battle of entertainment and awe, the 3rd annual festival will culminate with the top-voted acts earning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes sponsored by the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Participants who vote will have their own chance to win Seaport Village prize packs.
