Valentine's Day Treats
Hoooo-boy! This was a tuff blog to research. Seriously guys. But I do these things for you because I love you.
Speaking of love! Valentine's Day is a mere week away. One week. What are you doing for that special someone? Your best friend? Your sister? Yourself? How about giving them something sweet?
Seaport Village has no shortage of sweet treats and I am here to do the round up for you! No really, no need to thank me.
First up on the sweet treat train: Cupcakes! From Frosted Robin Cupcakes. Maybe you make dinner for your valentine and end the night with one of these beauties? You don't even have to tell them I gave you the idea.
Second in line: a yummy candy assortment from Seaport Coffee & Fudge Factory. Hint: They specialize in candy & carmel covered apples. They can even personalize for you! I am seeing red candy hearts all over mine...
Next up! Why not keep it retro? Nostalgic candy is different but still yummy. Which is important. Out of all the candy at American Nostalgia, Charleston Chew is my first choice! But they also have Razzles, Sixlets and those colorful dots on paper.
In the vein of keeping it different but yummy how about these SPICY candies from Hot Licks?! I know there is someone in your life who you want to keep it caliente with!
It wouldn't be Valentine's Day without chocolate covered strawberries. Now you may be saying... kind of been done before. Ummmm.... not when they look like this! Made with love by Candy Shack, these babies are HUGE and yummy. And since they are technically fruit they are healthy too. Right? Right? Again, they are customizable. But, hello? The tuxedo ones? They are perfection!
Last but not least! How about some good old fashioned heart lollis? They can be found at Mistletoe. If these don't make you want to go out and ask someone to be your valentine, I don't know what will.
Whatever you do this February 14th, be sure you keep it sweet. Because nothing is better than a sweet valentine.

"A Sweet Spot brings flavor to Seaport Village." Read all about it! I just wanted to bring to your attention this awesome article that was written in the San Diego Downtown News about our very own Frosted Robin Cupcakes.
She said the quaint, family-focused atmosphere of Seaport Village provides a perfect setting for a nostalgic treat like cupcakes.
“I think that cupcakes are so popular because we associate them with celebrations and special family gatherings in our childhood,” she said.

Seaport Village's Ben & Jerry's is turning 20! 2-0. That is a big one. To celebrate they are challenging YOU and your friends to devour a VERMONSTER.

To celebrate 20 years of scooping ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbets, Ben & Jerry's Seaport Village is bringing the world of competitive eating to San Diego. It's all for a good cause as they host the sweetest challenge of the year!

20 Teams Tackle 20 Scoop Sundaes in 20 Minutes or less, and all to raise $20,000 to support the local efforts of the National Foundation for Autism Research (NFAR) and make a difference for thousands of San Diego children with autism.
Entry per team is $250.00. Each team is encouraged to try and fundraise up to $1,000, to help us reach our goal of raising $20,000 to benefit the National Foundation for Autism Research.

The Sweet Rewards:
- The team that can reach the very bottom of their VERMONSTER Sundae* in the fastest time will win a catered Sundae party for 100 people.
- The top fundraising team will be awarded with a year of free ice cream - that's one cone a week for each team member!
- The top 3 teams will win autographed Ben & Jerry's memorabilia and goodies.
- Each participant will receive a commemorative 20th Anniversary 20 / 20 / 20 VERMONSTER Challenge t-shirt. Plus, we'll be sure to share all the fun action photos.
The Cherry on Top:
By participating, you'll be helping children with autism in San Diego. All proceeds support the NFAR. Since 2005, NFAR has awarded more than a half million dollars throughout the San Diego community, positively impacting the living and learning environment for thousands of local children.
