A Sweet Spot

"A Sweet Spot brings flavor to Seaport Village."  Read all about it!  I just wanted to bring to your attention this awesome article that was written in the San Diego Downtown News about our very own Frosted Robin Cupcakes.

She said the quaint, family-focused atmosphere of Seaport Village provides a perfect setting for a nostalgic treat like cupcakes.

“I think that cupcakes are so popular because we associate them with celebrations and special family gatherings in our childhood,” she said.

How true is that?  More jewels like this one when you click here.

Whale watching festival? Yes, please!

Seaport Village is a proud supporter and planner of the 2012 Whale Days Festival!

Big Bay Whale Days 2011

The San Diego ‘Whale Festival’ will be held on the Port Pavilion on the Broadway Pier  on Saturday, January 21, 2012. The free Whale Festival is a family community event offering a wide variety of interactive and hands on displays to spark the interest and imagination of any child including a walk-through gray whale, live sea creatures, free face painting, a kids art mural coloring project, a festival train ride and a bounce house. Enjoy live music on the "Whale of a stage"  featuring James Gibson Band, Nadro John and Jinnah Williams. Last year, the festival was attended by over 5000 local and visitors.

We had so much fun last year.  It was a gorgeous day and everyone was in such a good mood.

Seaport Village & New Year's Eve

Have you noticed the big ramp being built in the bay right behind Seaport Village?

Red Bull No Limits New Year ramp

Red Bull is planning a big jump on New Year's Eve.

Snowmobile ace Levi LaVallee returns to tackle Red Bull: New Year. No Limits. in 2011, but he's not alone. FMX star Robbie Maddison will join LaVallee as the pair attempt to set new distance records while sailing over San Diego Bay. LaVallee was originally slated to perform the jump in 2010, but a crash in practice leading up to the event sidelined him with serious injuries. Fully healed and more determined than ever, he's back to make his mark and best his record of 361 feet.

This historic jump is not a Seaport Village event but it will be happening in our backyard!  Definitely worth checking it out.  You can get all the info on the event here.

Seaport Village shops will be open 10 am - 9 pm on New Year's Eve & New Year's Day and restaurants will have extended hours.

Happy 2012!
